A Note From Jason
The Christmas season is officially upon us. We began our walk through Advent last Sunday and will continue on this weekend. In the meantime, don't forget to utilize our Advent guide for your personal daily devotions. It starts on December 1st. You can find a link below for a .pdf copy or we have more paper copies available at Connection Point if you didn't get one last Sunday.
Also, be sure to note our Christmas schedule for the month ahead. On the 18th, our services will include lots of Christmas music, a special appearance from our children, and a special one-day Christmas offering. As you can see below, we will have 2 Christmas Eve services on the 24th. We will not gather on the 25th and we will then host just one combined service on January 1st.
In that Christmas falls on a Sunday this year, many churches have contemplated how to best celebrate Christ while also honoring the family time of volunteers and staff. Please know that we didn't make this decision flippantly. I know this is also true for the many other churches in our community who have either canceled or adjusted their schedules on the 25th.
We are spending a full month celebrating the birth of Christ and our services on the 24th will provide a powerful opportunity for us to gather as a body just hours before Christmas. In addition, we will be streaming a special devotion on Christmas morning for you to enjoy from home or wherever you may be traveling. We are hopeful that you'll seize all these opportunities to worship with both our church and your family that week. Thanks for your understanding and flexibility. Let's celebrate Jesus!
News & Announcements
Christmas With Shoreline
This year, we'll be walking through an Advent Guide that we've made available online and in print. This is a simple daily reading, distributed by Desiring God, to help you focus your heart on our Savior this Christmas. We would encourage you to use this in your quiet time, family worship time, or life group meeting. The first day's reading begins tomorrow, December 1.
Join us on Christmas Eve at 3:00 & 4:30 PM as we culminate our Advent season. This special service will feature carols, candles, and a brief message. The service will last about an hour long, and childcare is not provided. A cry room will be available for any restless children.
Mission Of Hope Blue Barrels
With the Christmas season comes our opportunity to serve our partner school, Yellow Creek Elementary. This annual tradition and partnership with Mission Of Hope collects Christmas gifts for children in rural Appalachia. Blue barrels, including a list of needed items, will be in the lobby through December 5. In addition, we are planning to deliver toys to Yellow Creek Elementary in Kentucky on December 15. Let us know if you are interested in participating.
Spreading Holiday Cheer - Family Event
On Sunday, December 18, we'll gather all of our families with children together for an evening together. We'll meet at the church at 4:30 PM for crafts, activities, and dinner. At 5:30 PM, we'll move to The Cove at Concord Park for more fun and caroling. Festive attire is encouraged!
Kids Worship On December 18
We'll be joined in worship by our Shoreline Kids (kindergarten-5th grade) on Sunday, December 18 as we sing Chris Tomlin's "It's Christmas" together. We would encourage you to practice this song together at home or in the car! (Even you, Mom & Dad!) You can find it on YouTube here, or anywhere you listen to music.
