A Note From Jason
We are getting closer and closer to Christmas! Be making your plans to join us at one of our two Christmas Eve services and be sure to invite others as well. With that said, let's not push past this upcoming Sunday! We have a special morning of carols, kids singing, lighting the Angel Candle, and bringing our special Christmas offering. I'd encourage you to make every effort to be there and participate as the Lord leads you. It's going to be a great morning together. See you Sunday!
News & Announcements
Christmas With Shoreline
As we near the end of the year, will you help us finish strong financially? While we have done a good job of monitoring expenses and maintaining an appropriate amount of margin, our giving is less than projected up to this point in the year. We recognize that we set a very ambitious budget goal. We also know that it is common for a church to make up a giving shortfall in the last few weeks of the year.
We are asking each family to prayerfully consider participating in a special one-day Christmas Offering this Sunday, December 18 by bringing $250 above and beyond your regular giving on that day. If everyone participates, we will easily meet our ministry funding goal for the year. We are excited about what God has in store for 2017 and it is vital that we start the year on solid ground financially. You can give online 24/7 at shorelineknox.com/give.
Shoreline Christmas Family Event
This Sunday, December 18, we'll gather all of our families with children for an evening together. We'll meet at the church at 4:30 PM for crafts, activities, and dinner. At 5:30 PM, we'll move to The Cove at Concord Park for more fun and caroling. Festive attire is encouraged! Let us know you're coming here.
Kids In Worship Service
This Sunday, we'll be joined in worship by our Shoreline Kids (kindergarten-5th grade) as we sing Chris Tomlin's "It's Christmas" together. We would encourage you to practice this song together at home or in the car! (Even you, Mom & Dad!) You can find it on YouTube here, or anywhere you listen to music. Our kids will be singing early in the service, so plan on arriving early so you don't miss it!
Join us on Christmas Eve at 3:00 & 4:30 PM as we culminate our Advent season. This special service will feature carols, candles, and a brief message. The service will last about an hour long, and childcare is not provided. A cry room will be available for any restless children. If you would like to help greet for either service, please email Merna Schott.
Other Events & Updates
We're in need of a licensed electrician for an upcoming project. If that's you and you are able to help, contact Greg Saffles. Even if your speciality isn't electrical, we are always looking for handymen to help us out with various projects. If you would like to be included on our list of people, email Chuck Baine.
Our next Shoreline 101 class (formerly Launch Point) will be on Sunday, January 15 and 22 during the 10:45 AM worship gathering. This two-week class will walk you through our Shoreline vision, as well as present you with all the ways to get involved in the life of the church. During the second week, you'll have the opportunity to join Shoreline in partnership. Register here.
On January 15, we'll be celebrating new life in Christ through believer's baptism. If you are ready to be baptized, or would just like to learn more about what we believe about baptism, let us know here and someone will be in touch soon!
