A Note From Jason
As you enter into these final couple weeks before Christmas, be sure to seize every opportunity you can to point people towards Jesus. In our Advent series, we've seen so far how God moves and also where He moves. This Sunday, the focus will be on whom God uses. I also hope you're sticking with our daily advent reading. If you're behind, you can still jump in and make this month special as you focus on Him. I love the celebrating the Christmas season with you!
News & Announcements
Christmas With Shoreline
As we near the end of the year, will you help us finish strong financially? While we have done a good job of monitoring expenses and maintaining an appropriate amount of margin, our giving is less than projected up to this point in the year. We recognize that we set a very ambitious budget goal. We also know that it is common for a church to make up a giving shortfall in the last few weeks of the year.
We are asking each family to prayerfully consider participating in a special one-day Christmas Offering on December 18 by bringing $250 above and beyond your regular giving on that day. If everyone participates, we will easily meet our ministry funding goal for the year. We are excited about what God has in store for 2017 and it is vital that we start the year on solid ground financially. Remember that you can always give online at shorelineknox.com/give.
Christmas Family Event
On Sunday, December 18, we'll gather all of our families with children for an evening together. We'll meet at the church at 4:30 PM for crafts, activities, and dinner. At 5:30 PM, we'll move to The Cove at Concord Park for more fun and caroling. Festive attire is encouraged! Contact Jenny Pace (firstname.lastname@example.org) with questions.
Kids In Worship Service
We'll be joined in worship by our Shoreline Kids (kindergarten-5th grade) on Sunday, December 18 as we sing Chris Tomlin's "It's Christmas" together. We would encourage you to practice this song together at home or in the car! (Even you, Mom & Dad!) You can find it on YouTube here, or anywhere you listen to music.
Mission Of Hope Delivery
Thank you for your generosity in helping support Mission of Hope this year! If you would like to help deliver these Christmas gifts in person to the students of Yellow Creek Elementary, contact Amy Totty. We'll be at the school on Thursday, December 15 to help distribute gifts to kids as well as bless the teachers and administrators of the school. This may end up being your favorite part of the Christmas season!
It's not too late to join us in our walk through Advent this season. Be sure to pick up your Advent Guide in person on Sunday morning or you can also find it online. This is a simple daily reading to help you focus your heart on our Savior this Christmas. We would encourage you to use this in your quiet time, family worship time, or life group meeting.
Christmas Eve Services
Join us on Christmas Eve at 3:00 & 4:30 PM as we culminate our Advent season. This special service will feature carols, candles, and a brief message. The service will last about an hour long, and childcare is not provided. A cry room will be available for any restless children. If you would like to help greet for either service, please email Merna Schott.
Other Events & Updates
Our next Shoreline 101 class (formerly Launch Point) will be on Sunday, January 15 and 22 during the 10:45 AM worship gathering. Baptism Sunday - January 15
Baptism is a powerful demonstration of what Jesus has done in the life of a believer, and is our way of communicating to the world our changed life. Our next baptism opportunity will be Sunday, January 15 in both worship hours. If you would like to take this next step of faith, or would just like to learn more, let us know here.
