As you may have heard, this Christmas season we are partnering with Hope fellowship and City church to provide Christmas presents for over 200 foster children in DSC care. You can help us with this by going to giveknoxville.com and buying gifts for these children. Then, on December 12, we will be having a wrap party to prepare all of the gifts to be delivered to DCS! This will be a drop in event from 6-7:30 here at Shoreline. We’ll have Christmas cookies, music, and a time for us to come together as we give back this season. We hope you’ll join us!
The holidays are a difficult time for any person dealing with the death of a loved one. December 10 will be a time designed to help grieving individuals cope during this season. This is a one-night event that helps you make it through the holiday season by creating a space for you to learn how navigate this season and share how your grief is affecting you.
On December 9 at 6:30pm, Shoreline Church, Hope Fellowship, and City Church will be coming together at the Bijou Theater for a night of powerful performances of scripture and song that will follow the story of Jesus from the book of Genesis to the Gospels of the New Testament. This night will celebrate the ancient church tradition of using musicians and performers to help tell the story of Christmas. Come hear the story of a King born to a virgin and laid in a manger.
Childcare will not be provided, but you are welcome to bring your older kids with you or get a babysitter and enjoy a night out! We ask that parents considering bringing kids use discernment to ensure that children will not be a distraction.
We are currently at capacity for this event. If you would like to be added to our waiting list, you can sign up HERE.
Have you felt God’s call to serve a child in need, but felt stifled by the gravity of adoption or foster care? While taking a large step to adopt a foster child is vital, it is not the only way to serve. If you are interested in learning more about fostering, adopting or how you can be involved in Open Hands, please join us Sunday, December 9 at 9:45 in room 201.
We need volunteers to help sort donations at Compassion Closet Monday, December 3, 6:00-8:00pm. The Compassion Closet exists to provide assistance to foster, kinship, adoptive, and other families in the Knoxville area. If you can only come by for part of this time, that's fine too!
The address is 11020 Kingston Pike, Suite 270, Knoxville, TN 37934. It is behind FISH window cleaning in Farragut. You can find out more about Compassion Closet HERE.
