Communications Specialist
Reports To: Communications & Creative Director
Job Summary:
The Communications Specialist supports the mission and values of Shoreline by helping with effective communication across all platforms—digital, print, and in-person. Working under the direction of the Communications and Creative Director, this role assists in crafting clear, timely and compelling content that informs and engages the church body and broader community.
Key Responsibilities:
Content Creation & Writing
Assist in drafting and editing content for weekly email newsletters, website updates, printed materials, and internal announcements.
Assist in writing compelling copy for social media, event promotions, and sermon series.
Proofread content to maintain brand voice, tone, and accuracy.
Digital Communication
Help manage and update the church’s website and Church Center app with relevant content.
Plan a consistent content calendar across all social platforms (e.g., Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, etc.).
Create engaging, mission-driven content that reflects the voice and values of Shoreline, including graphics, video clips, stories, reels, and written captions.
Assist in monitoring social media accounts for engagement and interaction.
Administrative & Project Support
Assist in gathering details from ministry leaders for announcements and promotions.
Support the organization of digital assets (photos, videos, graphics).
Help maintain the communications calendar for key events and campaigns.
Event & Sunday Service Support
Help prepare and coordinate communications for Sunday services (slides, announcements).
Support the team in promoting special events through email, digital channels, and printed signage.
Occasionally help with photography or capturing stories during services/events.
Qualifications:
Committed follower of Jesus Christ
Agree with Shoreline Church covenant and commit to exhibiting a lifestyle that is consistent with the same
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Familiarity with social media platforms, email marketing, and web content management.
Basic knowledge of tools like Mailchimp, Canva, Google Workspace, or Adobe Creative Suite a plus.
